Field Office Inquire ↗

Chapter One — The practice

Buildings
that listen,
since '08.

Field Office is a small architecture practice in Brooklyn. We make houses, libraries, and the occasional restaurant. We start every project with a long walk through the site.

Chapter Two — The work

Quiet rooms. Considered light.

We've been doing this since 2008 — a partnership of three architects who met at the GSD and decided we'd rather work small. Most of our projects are houses for families who don't want a house that looks like everyone else's house.

What we make is fewer rooms, better proportioned. We design the doorknobs. We pick the trees.

Chapter Three — What we do

The commissions.

i.

Houses & renovations.

Single-family residential, ground-up or full renovation. Typical engagement: 14–18 months.

ii.

Civic & institutional.

Libraries, schools, small museums. We've completed six in the last decade.

iii.

Hospitality.

Restaurants and small inns. Two recent projects in Hudson and Provincetown.

Chapter Five — Inquire

Write us a letter.

We take three to four new commissions a year. Send us a note about your project and we'll set up a long walk.
